Mr. Phillip Karugaba
      Mr. Phillip Karugaba was elected to OBUL board in 2009. Mr.Karugaba is a Partner in "MMAKS Advocates" a law firm where he specializes in corporate and commercial law.

He has over 15 years experience in both the public and private sector, having worked as in-house Counsel for the Privatization Unit of the Ministry of Finance of Uganda and in private practice. He is ranked as a leading lawyer by Chambers Global Guide of London. He holds a 1st Class Honors Bachelor's of Laws degree of Makerere University. Mr. Karugaba is also a graduate of Cambridge University, UK.

Mr. Kenneth M. Wathome
      Mr. Kenneth M. Wathome was elected to OBUL board in 2000. Mr. Wathome is the Director and a principle partner of Ngotho Wathome Co.Lt, a valuers and estates agents company in Nairobi, Kenya. He is also the Chairman, Board of Directors of Faulu Kenya Limited, a sister company of Opportunity Bank Ltd. Mr. Wathome holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Land Economics from Nairobi University. He is the Executive Chairman of NW Realite Limited, a Registered Valuers, Real Estate and Property Services Company and the Chairman of the Board of Realtors Africa; an Internet based Real Estate Company. He also sits on the international board of Food for the Hungry International.

Ms. Sarah Kiwanuka
      Ms. Sarah Kiwanuka was elected to OBUL board in 2003, is Finance and Administration Officer, International Centre for tropical agriculture. Ms. Kiwanuka served for four years as the Examiner of Accounts for the Office of the Auditor General, as well as 5 years as an Accountant for World Vision. She served as Account / Administrator of AMREF for 8 years and as Finance & Administration Officer of International Centre for Tropical Agriculture for 4 years. Ms. Kiwanuka holds an ICSA (UK) and a CPA (Kenya).



Ms. Jacqueline Kobusingye Opondo

Jacqueline Kobusingye is a professionally qualified accountant and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants FCCA with more than 18 years of work experience.

Experience has been acquired in Audit and Tax Administration, Tax Consultancy with emphasis on VAT, International Tax and Corporate Income Tax. Jacqueline has been the Commissioner Internal Audit and Compliance at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). She held this position for almost 5 years and prior to that she was Commissioner for Domestic Taxes Department for 3 years from May 2005.


Jacqueline held the position of Manager, Tax and Legal Services in charge of Indirect Taxes and in particular with VAT at Price Waterhouse Coopers Consultant Limited where she joined in 1998 as tax consultant. Prior to that, she worked at URA and was instrumental in the implementation of VAT in Uganda in 1996.


Ms. Winnie Lawoko-Olwe

Ms. Winnie Lawoko Olwe – A Certified CRM, Team building Trainer and Social Entrepreneur holds a BA Hon. Degree Social Sciences, MBA-ESAMI/MAASTRICHT elective Entrepreneurial Development.

Winnie holds vast experience in strategic Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Media and Communications, Hotel and Hospitality, Stakeholder and Public Sector Governance, Entrepreneurial Development and a TOT in a number of Business Development Support.

Winnie has held various positions including Director of Sales and Marketing at Sheraton Hotels in Kampala, Harare, Dar es Salaam and Addis Ababa, Head of Sales and Marketing- MTN Uganda, Chairperson at Wildlife and Conservation Centre, Treasurer at Uganda Wild Life Society. She was also Business, Consultancy and Management Advisor with PSFU.


Winnie in other Leadership Positions: Board Member National Urban Physical Planning Board, Board Member FAWEU- Representative North , Board Member I-Network Uganda, Board Member(Northern Uganda Girls Education Network). She is currently a Lead Consultant with WILIOTRAINS
