Tineyi Emmanuel
Mawocha (CEO)


Tineyi  Emmanuel Mawocha   has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity Bank Uganda Ltd. He joins, on transfer from Urwego Opportunity Bank (Rwanda) where he was CEO. He has held several managerial positions in major Banks in South Africa including Standard Bank - South Africa and Swaziland. He has worked as Area Business Manager and Director Branch Network Standard Bank South Africa. In December 2005, he was transferred and promoted to Managing Director of Standard Bank Swaziland and served there till September 2012. In October 2012, he was appointed Managing Director of Tetrad Investment Bank and left in December 2013 to join Urwego Opportunity Bank of Rwanda. Tineyi was Chairman of SADC Banking Association from 2009 till 2012. He is a fellow and advisor of the Centre for Financial Inclusion’s Africa Board Fellowship programme.
Tineyi has also worked with hospitality management Companies in the UK and Zimbabwe, where he was General Manager at the Katete Safari Lodge at Bumi Hills Kariba. In 1995, he was appointed Managing Director of Nando’s Zimbabwe, then Regional Developments Director for Innscor Africa in 1997. Tineyi launched Nando's operations in Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya, Uganda and TanzaniaHe holds  a Masters in Business Administration from University of Zimbabwe as well as a Masters in Development Finance from University of Stellenbosch (cum-laude).He also holds an HND in Hotel & Catering Management from Bulawayo Polytechnic..

 Geriga Christopher
 Executive Director (ED)


Mr. Christopher Geriga has been appointed Executive Director at Opportunity Bank Uganda. Prior to being appointed Executive Director, Christopher served as the Chief Risk Officer at Opportunity Bank and as Acting CEO, a position he held until the appointment of a substantive CEO.

Christopher has over 13 years of Banking experience, particularly in Micro-Finance. He joined Opportunity Bank from Centenary Bank, where he was responsible for Fraud Risk Management and other roles that included Senior Internal Auditor, several officer roles in Internal Audit, basic banking and credit which gave him a great understanding of Banking.

Christopher holds a Second Class Upper, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Makerere University, is a member of the Professional Risk Management Institute, certification in Frauds and Forensics from South Africa among others.


Owen Spencer Amanya (FCCA) CFO


Owen joined Opportunity Bank Uganda in January 2015 bringing on board over 8 years of financial reporting, internal control and audit experience gained from assignments in Uganda, the United Kingdom, Rwanda and South Sudan. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA - UK), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Makerere University. Previously, Owen was an audit manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he served clients in various industry sectors including Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics, Retail, ICT, Construction, Non- Governmental Organisations, Government and other public sector players. He has also interacted with various stakeholders including Boards of Directors, BOD Audit committees, regulatory authorities specifically Bank of Uganda and the Capital Markets Authority and group/head office teams and auditors. 


John Robert Okware (CRO)
      John Robert joined Opportunity Bank Uganda as Chief Relationship Officer in February 2014. He brings onboard over 11 years working experience with 9 years of extensive banking experience in micro finance, SME finance and corporate lending from Centenary Bank Uganda. John Robert has been an executive member of the Board of Trustees of Centenary Bank Defined Contribution Scheme, one of the biggest licensed staff contribution schemes in the Country. Prior to Joining Opportunity Bank, he served in the last 5 years as Regional Credit Supervisor, Branch Manager, Credit Manager, and Credit administrator with Centenary Bank. John Robert holds Bachelor’s degree In Economics from Makerere University, and a Master of Science Degree in Development Economics from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi (final year). John Robert also attended several tailor made trainings including; Fundamentals of agriculture lending, Advanced credit analysis, Advanced banking, & Mortgage finance (Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial services), Coaching and mentoring (Coach Africa), Training of Trainers (Uganda Management Institute), Risk and Governance (Alexanderfobes-Kenya), Customer Relationship Management (Intex Customer services Ltd, Kenya), among others.

Rogers Kakeeto
(Head of Marketing & Business Development)
      Rogers Kakeeto joined Opportunity Bank in March 2009. He is the Head of Marketing and Business Development. Rogers has over 15 years experience in Sales and Marketing. Previously working with the New Vision as a Senior Sales and Marketing Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce-Marketing and MBA from Makerere University. He is a Chartered Marketer, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing-UK and Uganda Marketers Association. He has since joining OBUL launched the savings product in April 2009, created awareness and managed the rebranding process from Faulu to Opportunity Uganda Limited. He has been instrumental in positioning Opportunity Uganda as a major and respected Financial Institution in Uganda. He is a member of the steering committee of the OBUL Cultural change project aimed at transforming Opportunity Uganda into a customer oriented organization.

Margret Namazzi
(Head of Transformation)
      Margaret Namazzi joined OBUL in 2009. She has over 10 years working experience in Microfinance and has in addition, over five years of experience in spear heading and integrating transformational elements into the lending methodologies of organizations. She is a result oriented and innovative manager with strong leadership, planning, reporting, good problem solving and communication skills. A person of high integrity, and emotionally mature. She is motivated by the love of Jesus Christ for the under privileged people. Margaret holds a Masters degree in Management Studies (Public Administration and management). She is responsible for translating and integrating the transformation mission into the organization's policies and procedures. She is the champion for Social Performance management (SPM) and spearheads the financial literacy training campaign internally and on TV AMAGEZI BUGAGGA (knowledge is wealth) Drama

Sandra Nazziwa           (Legal Manager)

      Sandra Nazziwa joined Opportunity Bank as a Legal Officer in 2011 and was promoted to Legal Manager in October 2012. Sandra is currently the Company Secretary/Legal Manager for Opportunity Bank.

She is a practising advocate with eight years experience in Commercial and Land law. Prior to her employment in Opportunity Bank, Sandra worked at National Housing & Construction Company Limited as a Legal Officer from 2006 to 2011.

Started in 1995 as Faulu Uganda owned by Food for the Hungry International (FHI), in 2006 OTI acquired 63%, from FHI and it is the intention of OTI to continue increasing it's % shareholding.
