Sensitive Device Permissions
Camera
Used to capture images for KYC verification or cheque deposits.
Contacts
Used to facilitate Send Money or Airtime Purchase features.
Location
Used to prevent fraud and help you locate the nearest branch or ATM.
2. Purpose of Data Collection
- App Functionality: To process transactions, manage accounts, and provide support.
- Security & Fraud Prevention: To verify identity and monitor suspicious activity.
- Regulatory Compliance: To comply with Ugandan laws and Bank of Uganda regulations.
- Personalization: To offer relevant financial services.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- Service Providers: Partners assisting with processing transactions or SMS services.
- Credit Reference Bureaus: As required by banking regulations.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or court order.
- Fraud Prevention: With law enforcement or financial institutions when necessary.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption and multi-factor authentication to protect your data.
5. Data Subject Rights, Retention and Account Deletion
We retain personal data while your account is active or as required by Ugandan financial regulations (typically 10 years for transaction records).
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Objection: Object to processing for specific purposes such as marketing.
- Deletion: Request removal of personal data subject to regulatory requirements.
